Off to Paris

The Australian Men’s 4 x 100 relay team qualified to compete at the Paris Olympics after achieving a qualifying time and position at the recent World Relays in the Bahamas.

The photo shows a delighted Old Virgilian – Jacob Despard (SVC 2010-13) – with fellow runners holding a qualification acknowledgement.

In their initial heat, the team narrowly missed the qualifying mark, but succeeded in the repechage round with a time of 38.46 seconds.
