Are you passionate about your child’s learning?
Would you like to have a voice in helping us to strengthen our learning culture?
Come along to hear from other parents/carers as we create
a shared language around learning.
We warmly welcome you all to come along and attend another interactive parent engagement workshop on Wednesday 12 June from 6:00-7:00pm in Kenna Hall. We will have our partnered Education Consultant Chad Ferris from ideatED who will facilitate this session.
At this session, we are seeking your insights as Chad helps our school co-construct our Learning Framework. The intent of our co-constructed learning Framework is to identify, define and explore what we value great learning to be at Catherine McAuley. This session will be interactive and will join with the voices of our staff and students to enhance shared language and collective accountability across our whole school community.
We invite you to encourage each other to join us so that we have an active parent/carer voice in our learning community.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
Please RSVP on Compass by ‘giving consent’ next to your eldest child’s name by Friday 7th June.
A gentle reminder that this Friday 17th May will be a Pupil Free Day so that teachers can attend a workshop in Bathurst facilitated by Dr Dan White about Contemporary and Practical Teaching Strategies to help 'unlock' the Wonder and Beauty of the Scriptures.
Sacred Scriptures have always been the ‘Cornerstone’ of any Religious Education curriculum and the McAuley staff are looking forward to learning more about how to thoughtfully and creatively engage students in a ‘study’ of these scriptures.
To keep on top of all the exciting things happening at the school please ensure you have the Compass App on your phone and that you have set it to send alerts. We aim to send information via Compass at 6pm each night. If it is urgent we may send information during the day. Please contact the school office if you need any assistance with accessing Compass.
On behalf of the school community, I would like to thank all of the Kindergarten parents who helped with the Mothers' Day stall and Mothers' Day bake sale. Both events were a tremendous success judging by both the strong attendance and the huge smiles.
Our Mother's Day liturgy brought a tear to many as our Kindergarten students led us in thanking the mothers, grandmothers and other mother figures in the children's lives.
Mrs Polly Drezins commenced teaching at Catherine McAuley at the beginning of 2024. Her role is to support students that have English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) as well as students that have a Language Background other than English (LBOTE).
After getting to know staff and students during the first term, she is now planning with teachers to support students as part of whole class instruction or in small groups.
Should you like to discuss any aspect of EAL/D or LBOTE with Mrs Drezins, please make contact with the school and she will make an appointment to meet with you.
