Sacred Heart of Jesus Mass

The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Mass will be celebrated this Friday 7th June at 12:15p.m in our School Hall. Please join us as we celebrate this important feast day and recognise the efforts of our Mini Vinnies and school community in promoting the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal.

Mini Vinnies

Our Mini Vinnies - Social Justice Leadership Team have been working hard to promote the St Vincent de Paul Society's 170th Birthday celebrations. They have been instrumental in working on the St Vincent de Paul's Message of Hope Project, designing banners and written and audio messages.

Here is a sample of their work:

The team's message:

Our vision for the world is one of HOPE. Hope and peace so that there are no longer wars, poverty or homelessness. We will strive to make our world a better place.

We do our best so that we can come together regardless of who we are; race, colour, culture or gender. We will do this with confidence and courage through a committed and collective responsibility.

We will demonstrate respect, empathy and compassion to all those who need our help and be committed to fulfilling the St Vincent de Paul Society’s motto: ‘A hand up not a hand out’.

We continuously work to create an awareness of the great work the St Vincent de Paul Society does locally, nationally and internationally. Our fundraising efforts brings this to life.

It is with our hands and through our voice that we can make hope a reality.

Happy 170th Birthday to the St Vincent de Paul Society!

St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal

It is that time of year when our own Mini Vinnies are working hard to promote the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal at St Therese's. Historically, we collect non-perishable food items and any winter clothing and items such as blankets, to present at our Whole School Mass for the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which are then donated to the society.

Our families have always been generous when it comes to giving a helping hand to those in need, so if you can donate any of these items, it would be greatly appreciated. Baskets will be distributed in all classrooms for the collection of these items so please send them along with your child to be collected at class level.

All our students learn about the importance of Catholic Social Teaching throughout their time at St Therese's and our efforts to promote giving so that others can benefit, lies at the core of this teaching - Preferential Option for the poor.

“The spirit of the Lord is on me, for he has anointed me to bring the good news to the afflicted. He has sent me… to let the oppressed go free.”

Luke 4:18

Thanking you in advance for your generosity.
