African Drumming Incursion

As part of the Performing Arts Program, students in Foundation - Year 6 participated in an African Drumming incursion at school.

The incursion looked at West African musical culture, and included a mix of drumming, dancing and singing. The students will learnt about traditional instruments and how to play them, songs and rhythms, and every student played their own djembe drum for the session.

Students investigated the Bugs Alive! Exhibit and got up close to the creepy crawlies. They viewed diversity displays and habitat displays wher students could see how invertebrates live in the wild. Ginger the Craziest Cay in the World

Two of our ex-students, Emma and Dawn, recently attended our Assembly to be presented with the final product of a picture story book project they have been working on with Ms Hong.

Emma wrote this story back in 2018 whilst in Ms Hong's Grade 3 class. Last year she approached Dawn to add illustrations. We then had a printing firm publish it in a professional format.

There is a copy on display in the Office, copies in the school Library and in every classroom library.

We take immense pride in both of these exceptionally talented students and the fantastic book they have produced.
