Dear Parents,

Mrs White has informed the staff that she will not return until Term 3. As a school community, we send her a world full of get-well wishes.  We know she is missing us as much as we are missing her.  For the remainder of the term, I will continue to relieve as principal and Mrs Lee as deputy principal.

Rugby League

Congratulations to our Rugby League team, which, after convincing wins against Cowra Public School and Calare Public School, is now off to Parkes to play in the regional finals. Thank you, Miss Solinas and Miss Tilburg, for coaching the team and Mr Hayes for helping out on the day.

Native Garden

This week, we have been celebrating Reconciliation Week. On Friday, Mary Kennedy will paint songlines on our friendship poles, which we began painting last year during our NAIDOC week celebrations and at our PLP writing BBQ. When completed, these will be sealed and placed in our new native garden.  This area will be constructed in phases over the upcoming months.  Stay tuned for the next exciting instalment.

School Concert

Rehearsals are about to commence for our school concert extravaganza. This year, our concert will be "A Night at the Museum." You are bound to be surprised by what you find in the BPS museum! As in previous years, we asking parents to pay a $10 costume hire fee for each child. This request will be sent out through the parent portal tomorrow.

Increase of illnesses

We are currently experiencing an increasing number of students and staff falling sick due to various illnesses, including COVID.  To minimise the spread of infections, students and staff should not attend school if they are sick or have COVID-like symptoms, which include fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of smell/taste, muscle/joint pains, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting, extreme tiredness, unexplained chest pain or conjunctivitis (eye infection). To minimise the spread of these infections, we are reminding students of personal hygiene, maximising classroom ventilation and encouraging distancing when practicable.

Due to increased illness across the school, Infants and Primary Assemblies will be postponed until Week 7 in the hope that we can limit the spread of sickness between student groups.

Attendance

Our current attendance rate is stable, despite increased students needing to be home due to illness.

REMEMBER - Absences must be explained within 7 days, otherwise they are considered unjustified.

If any parent has concerns regarding any aspect of school life, please do not hesitate to contact me.
