Plain English Speaking Awards

Friday 24th May 2024

Congratulations to Kylie Wolfe from Year 11 and Piri Faid from Year 12, who competed in the Plain English Speaking Award on Friday the 24th of May.

Kylie spoke passionately about the importance of not only teaching young people about the problems of the world but also equipping them with the ability to solve these problems, while Piri gave a powerful speech about mental health in public schools.

Although they didn’t win both students held their own against competitors from Mentone Girls Grammar, Cornish College, Wesley College, and Melbourne Grammar, with Mordialloc being the only government school to participate.

Both Kylie and Piri should be very proud of their efforts.
