Principal's Report

Debbie Oliver

I had the pleasure of attending Mitch Tambo's performance at our Performing Arts Centre, last week. Watching how engaged the children were with the performance and how Mitch interacted with students around culture and music was an absolute pleasure. Mitch also facilitated a yarning circle, and later in the day, a session was held in our library by the First Peoples Assembly around Treaty.

Last week I also attended with Kristie Luckman the state conference for Special Schools Principals in Echuca. Over the 2 days, we have heard from excellent speakers and educators about the latest developments in special education and educational leadership. A speaker that I was particularly impressed by was Paul Taylor, who presented a session on 'Stress Fitness'. Paul is a neuroscientist, exercise physiologist, author and podcaster, to name just a few of his titles.  He has some interesting insights into the modern world and what we need to do 'destress'. If you are interested, I suggest you jump onto his website and maybe listen to a few of his podcasts - https://www.paultaylor.biz/. I know that I will be taking some of his key messages back to my staff for further discussion.

Enjoy the long weekend.

Regards

Debbie Oliver
