Year 10 Creating Careers Day

You may already have read or heard about our exciting Creating Careers event happening here at the College on Thursday, 27 June.

We have locked in some great Q & A panelists for the morning session who will share their unique career journeys and provide valuable insight into career choices along with other interesting advice. We have panelists from industry areas including fitness, engineering and space, the police force, creative industries, trades and more!

Our Breakout Sessions after Recess include experiences relevant to university and vocational pathways. Students can select from a wide range of activities including opportunities to learn about new and emerging careers at the UniSA Future Industries Institute.

On campus we will be hosting information sessions about Medical and Allied Health Careers, Defence, Creative Industries, Human Services, Business and Hospitality, Construction and other trades, Fitness and Recreation, Education, Music and much more!

After lunch we will be visiting our close neighbour, UniSA for a quick tour and information session about courses and pathways. They will share with our students' insights into the new Adelaide University due to open in 2026. Students will be dismissed at the usual time of 3:15pm from school.

We hope students leave with ideas and knowledge that can help them through the Term 3 process of subject selection and feel encouraged and inspired to continue to think about their possible futures and career goals!

Following our Creating Careers Event our Year 10s will be busy with a week of work experience developing valuable workplace skills including organisation, independence, communication and collaboration, along with initiative and responsibility.

We look forward to hearing about their experiences in Term 3.

Year 12 Transitions

Next term our Year 12 students will begin the task of selecting University courses, Vocational courses or alternative options for their future. We begin this process by spending time hearing from our old scholars in Week 1 before heading off to Retreat. During this time, we also have the Universities visit to share the latest information regarding courses and pathways.

University Open Days

Early in Term 3 all three South Australian Universities will hold their annual Open Days. These provide a great opportunity to get a taste of University life, explore the campus’ and learn about your options. Year 10 and 11 students are also always welcome at these events.

This year's Open Days are listed below:

University of Adelaide: Sunday, August 11 https://www.adelaide.edu.au/openday/

SATAC Application Process

Information regarding the SATAC application process for admission to courses at South Australian Universities along with TAFESA will be provided to student’s early next term.

An information session will be held for both students and parents on Monday, 5 August in conjunction with the Year 12 Learning Conversations.

If you are a family new to the SATAC application process this is a great session to attend. Leading up to the application process I am happy to talk with students and help clarify potential careers and courses they may be interested in as they move beyond Endeavour.

It’s a great idea for families to also begin these conversations with their Year 12 in the coming weeks to help support a smooth transition.
