Reconciliation Week
Reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples, for the benefit of all Australians. National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
As part of a community event organised by Villis for Reconciliation Week, families were able to purchase themed donuts for our students to enjoy!
Marisa Hammer - our ACEO organised an excursion as part of Tea Tree Gully Council's commitment to Reconciliation Week for our Aboriginal students, to attend a Reconciliation Week Tree Planting in Stevens Reserve. It was great to hear about the yarning circle that was developed as part of NAIDOC Week in 2023 with students from The Heights, and plant native plants in the reserve.
