National Reconciliation Week News Report from Our FIRE Carriers

For National Reconciliation Week we had a colour up dress day. It was fun for everyone to dress up in Aboriginal or Torres Strait islander colours. It was nice to see how many people brought a donation for the Open Doors Foundation. There were many students who wore the AFL Indigenous guernseys which look amazing!

During the week we had quizzes at lunchtime. On Monday we had the ⅚ quiz and then we had ¾ quiz on Tuesday which the students enjoyed playing. The winning classes received a prize!

For the colouring competition the FIRE Carriers got to decide on which art work won for each grade. Then we announced the winners for the colouring competition on  the day of the assembly. The winners were Mia M, Sofia K, Maddy N and Lola Z. Thank you to everyone who participated.

At the Assembly for National Reconciliation Week the FIRE Carriers got to organise a special assembly. We shared a video with the whole school about the Eddie Betts Foundation and his story about being a young aboriginal AFL player for the Adelaide Crows and Carlton Blues. It was a lot of fun and we enjoyed it a lot!
