Junior Sport Update

I hope that everyone had an enjoyable long weekend and the opportunity to rest and recover, ready for the final few weeks of the term. A reminder that there are still two rounds of Winter sport this term before the Term 2 hiatus, with a further three rounds to be played in Term 3.

Last week I sent out an exercise challenge for the boys that promotes a better balance in the development of the body. I hope many boys have taken up the challenge. It is always difficult to start but if you stick at it, you will start to feel changes for the better. Please see below the activity challenge for this week:

* 15 squats

* 12 lunges

* 10-second plank

* 15 second wall sit

* 10 crunches

* 20 butt flicks

* 20 star Jumps

* 10 push-ups

You are allowed a 30-second break between each activity. The progression this week is a shorter break between activities, but repetitions stay the same. I look forward to hearing of how the boys are progressing with this challenge.

The Junior School Athletics Carnival will be held on Wednesday 26 June. In preparation for the day there will be trials conducted for specialist events, such as shot put and high jump. These trials will be held after school and boys are asked to listen to the Daily Announcements for times and days.
