Prep Interviews
We are delighted to inform you that our 2025 Prep Interviews are currently underway. It has been a privilege to meet our newest members of the St Bede's family. These interviews have provided a wonderful opportunity for us to get to know each other better and prepare for the transition program that will take place in fourth term.
Looking ahead to next year, we are planning to have two prep classes, each consisting of approximately 20 children. If you know of anyone still planning on enrolling, please urge them to do so quickly as we will be capping our classes soon.
School Closure Day Monday 3 June
This is a reminder that this Monday will be a school closure day. On this day, our staff will be dedicating time to further explore the science of reading. We will be delving into the research surrounding the explicit teaching of the five keys to reading; phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.
This professional development day will allow our staff to deepen their understanding and enhance their effectiveness in implementing these crucial elements into their teaching practices.
District Cross Country
Last Monday was the District Cross Country event, and we are thrilled to announce that several of our students represented St Bede's School with great enthusiasm and determination.
A special congratulations to Leonardo Campagna and Isaac Pulverenti, who have qualified for the Eastern Metropolitan Region Cross Country after their outstanding performances at the challenging Ruffey Park Division Race on Monday.
Well done to all our runners for their hard work and perseverance. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the parents for their support and for accompanying the children to the event. Your involvement is greatly appreciated and contributes significantly to our students' success.

Birthday Celebrations and Food Sharing Policy
We would like to remind everyone of our school policy regarding food sharing. As part of our commitment to ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all students, especially those with allergies, our school is a no sharing food school. However, we do have an exception for birthday celebrations.
Birthday Celebrations: The only item that children are allowed to share with their classmates on their birthdays is lemonade icy poles. This exception helps us celebrate special occasions while maintaining the safety and well-being of all students.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in respecting this rule. Together, we can ensure a safe and happy environment for all our students.
Thank you for your continued support.
Regards,
Larissa
