Currawong Bush Park Excursion

Last Friday the 3's and 4's had a fabulous day at the Manningham Sustainability day at Currawong Bush Park. Here are some pictures and some of their thoughts about the day...

On Friday 17th May grade 3 and 4 went to Currawong Bush Park.

When we were there we did lots of fun activities. The first one was the map we got to see what life was like a long time ago.

The next activity was the animals they were so cool. There was an echidna it was so spiky but when you drag you hand down it was fluffy.

There was a man that had lots of plants.

The next activity was the bins. We sorted the food into the right bin.

On Friday 17th May grade 3 and 4 went to Currawong Bush Park.  We did 4 activities. We got to pat animals. We got to hold an owl and a koala that was very big and an echidna.

We got to go on a bush walk. Fun fact did you know that they used to use a big ball and cover it in possum and they would play this game. They would kick the ball and whoever catches the ball gets to kick it.

In the morning we sang the welcome to country. At the end of the day we had to do some questions and we played a game. The guy had to tell a story and every thing got smaller. We had to flip the mat over and over and over.

Wow, wow, wow! I wish I could go back. Last Friday me and the grade 3 and 4s went to Currawong Bush Park.

We first did Welcome to Country with a guy that supports the Aboriginal's lands. After that they put us in groups I was in possums.

First my group went to learn about the different bins. He needed 3 voluteers. Sadly I wasn't chosen. They had to sort the different rubbish into the right bin. Then we watched a video on the FOGO bin and recyling.

After that we went to fruit break. Arlo had a rubix cube so I solved that a couple of times.

Then we went to a guy named Jack. We went on a kangaroo walk. Then we went on this mat and whenever the world closed in we would fold the mat.

Next we went with the Aboriginal man. He showed us bush food and then we went for a walk.

Eva.

It is under two weeks until camp. Please return camp medical forms asap.

We are encouraging students to work with an adult to pack their bags. Working together will enable the students to know what they have in their bags and parent know that they have what they need.

It will be cold and possibly wet so please help pack clothing that will keep them warm.

If your child takes regular medication or you find they need something - please bring it along on the Monday morning. You will need to fill out a medical form. All medications need to be in their labelled pharmacy packages with the required dosage. If you have any questions feel free to contact Mrs Eastwood by email brooke.eastwood@education.vic.gov.au
