Battle of the Bands

BBPS has had a Dreamers Rock Band. Their performances at assembly were legendary! (Benn Robb, Darren Shaw, Lucas Welsh and Simon Upstill)

They support and give back to Primary Schools through parent lead live music. They have a huge following in the primary schools they are involved with and raise a lot of funds for them as well. Their gigs get between 500 to 700 people attending and sell out for months in advance. They have their battles for this year starting on the 23rd May at the Prince Band Room and the finals at the Corner Hotel Richmond in August.

They currently only run in the southern and northern inner city suburbs (Elwood, Middle Park, St Kilda PS) but are looking to expand into some other suburbs, which is why they have contacted Bayside and why BBPS has been approached. 

Dean is trying to get something started between a few Bayside primary schools pretty quickly. Sandy Primary, Black Rock Primary and Hampton Primary bands are keen to compete and would love to get Brighton Beach Primary School involved if we could.

It's time to revive the Dreamers Band. Some may remember the explosive performance of a Queen Medley at Assembly several years ago.

If any parents have a passion or once played in their school band, or sing in the shower, or play the tambourine,  please reach out to Kyle from the Dreamers or Sally, Phil or Bev at school. The school hall is a perfect practice venue so there really is no excuses.
