Prep Update

Upcoming learning: Term 2 Weeks 8 & 9

During the next fortnight, Prep students will be undertaking learning in the following areas:

Reading	Students will engage in daily phonics lessons, focusing on the letters/sounds of /q/, /z/, /u/ and /j/ following the Little Learners Love Literacy sequence. Students will explore mixed up fairytales and read a range of picture books written by the same author.
Writing	Students will learn the correct letter formation of the letter's /q/, /z/, /u/ and /j/. They will also develop their understanding of sentences and begin to write their own sentences using picture prompts and familiar events.
Maths	Week 8- Students will investigating teen numbers. Week 9-Students will order numbers to 20 and beyond.
Inquiry	Our topic this term is 'Change'. Students will investigate how different forms of transport have changed over time.
Social and Emotional	Students will learn to identify their strengths and how they can demonstrate bravery in different situations.

Blue Reader Bags- Please return the blue bags (with all of the items inside) to school every day. This way we can paste in new sounds and update them as needed.
King's Birthday Holiday- Monday 10th June. No students at school
Prep Bin Wise Incursion - Wednesday 19th June. This is a free incursion provided by the City of Casey. Students will develop their knowledge of how to manage their recycling and waste at school and at home.
Last day of Term 2 - Friday 28th June. Students will finish school at 2.30pm.
