DOSCEL and STAPS Christmas Card Competition 2025

It’s that time of year again! Students and staff are preparing to unpack the scripture passage from Matthew 2:1–2 and create meaningful artworks for our annual Christmas Card Design Competition. We look forward to seeing the wonderful creativity and reflections on this special scripture. Here are the advertising poster and entry form.

Foundation Art Lessons

Foundation students have been busy making handmade gifts for their special father figures, including colourful tie-dye portraits and a fun “You Rock” card. They have also been practising ‘show and tell’ with their spring flower collages, confidently sharing their creative choices and answering thoughtful questions from their peers.

Grades 1& 2 Art Lessons

Grade 1 and 2 students have been practising their speaking and listening skills by presenting and sharing their Art Folder designs with the class. Taking turns as the interviewer, responder, and audience, they asked and answered questions about their artwork, techniques, and creative choices. Students did a wonderful job listening respectfully and using clear voices to share their ideas.

Grades 5&6 Art Lessons

 Grade 5 and 6 students have been busy balancing a number of exciting projects in Art. They have now completed their plaster modroc 3D athlete sculptures and are photographing them in a lightbox. Using Canva, students are designing digital presentations where their athlete sculpture becomes the main character — complete with animations, sound effects, and creative backgrounds. Alongside this, they have also been working on their art folder cover designs, using font writing, painting, and drawing elements to make each one unique. Here are some of the fantastic completed designs.
