Congratulations on an epic weekend – and months of practice and rehearsals – to Logan and Liana whose contribution to the Victorian State School Spectacular was totally, well, spectacular!
Channel 7 will televise a special broadcast of the event, including behind-the-scenes highlights, to Victorian audiences on Friday 19 December at 7pm. It will also be streaming nationally on 7plus for 60 days from the broadcast date.
We really look forward to casting these legends in next year’s show!
Let’s hear from the incredible pair themselves:
Logan:
'Liana and I went through 4 rounds of auditions to get the role of ‘Principal Vocalist’ we then rehearsed every week for 7 months, preparing for the show!
My main featured song was Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” which was done in an a cappella version, which was really fun to sing. We spent a week at John Cain arena rehearsing for the show in the lead up to the performances Saturday.
The biggest highlight for me was on the evening show, hearing the cheer and applause of a sold-out arena after we performed our finale ‘Think’ by Aretha Franklin. I also loved learning and working with industry professionals like Chong Lim and Yvette Lee'.
Liana:
'After a rigorous audition process Logan & I were so honoured to be selected as Principal Vocalists in the 2025 Victorian State School Spectacular. Months and months of weekly rehearsals all culminated into two shows in one day! What an experience!
I was fortunate to be featured in 3 songs:
“Lanterns” by Birds Of Tokyo (singing in a sextet), “Rather Be” by Clean Bandit featuring Jess Glynne (singing in a trio) and “Dancing In The Moonlight” by Toploader (singing in a quartet). I was also in the vocal ensemble in the Finale – “Think” by Aretha Franklin.
Highlights for me were working with amazing Industry Professionals such as Chong Lim, Kathy Hinch, Yvette Lee and Hara Papoulias in addition to meeting new people and making new friends who were all like-minded in perfecting their craft.
The whole experience of singing on centre stage at John Cain Arena is definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity. It’s such a large-scale professional production and one in which I feel truly blessed to have been a part!'
