Congratulations Aubry!

Aubrey is a pleasure to teach and always brightens everyone’s day. He has such a positive attitude to everything he does and displays all our school values of Care, Respect, Excellence and Community.

Aubrey’s enthusiasm for even the smallest things is so infectious that you can’t help but get excited with him. He has such a curious and inquisitive nature. When someone has news or Show and Tell, he is such an active listener and will show a genuine interest in what’s being presented. Aubrey will ask such clever and interesting questions. He then always manages to share his own relatable experience or story about the same topic, which of course we all love to hear. Aubrey loves sharing stories about all the things he does at the farm with his Pa or Dad. He seems to be forever toasting marshmallows and playing with all his cars, trucks and Lego over the weekend.

When he arrives at school, he will often be seen walking in with a huge Hot Wheels contraption and sometimes needs to walk in sideways to fit through the door. He gets so excited to share his special things with everyone and it’s obvious he feels good seeing everyone else get enjoyment out of them.

When you’re only 6 years old, you have a lot to learn and a lot of mistakes to make. What I love about Aubrey is that he is always willing to learn from these mistakes and take on any advice given to him to make things better. That is amazing for someone his age. I have seen him practising what he has learnt when speaking to his friends in the classroom or outside in the playground where there might be a problem. Aubrey can be so kind, accepting and forgiving. He is always willing to listen and give people a second chance but also get his point of view across in a respectful way.

Not everything always comes so easily to Aubrey, but there is no doubt he always tries his absolute hardest and never gives up and that is all we can ask for. Keep doing this, Aubrey, and you’ll go far! You have grown so much since the beginning of the year. Not just in height, but in your personality, your learning and the way you handle yourself. You are a wonderful role model in all aspects of school life – how to be a trusted friend, resilient, be organised and give everything a go just to name a few. You should be very proud of yourself!

Congratulations Lyla!

Lyla is very deserving of this award for many reasons.  She displays our school values and learning behaviours to a high standard.  Lyla understands what respect looks like and displays this value in everything she does.  She knows her words have power, and she chooses to use her words to show kindness to others and to encourage and support those around her.  Lyla is thoughtful of other’s feelings and thinks of different ways she can make people feel included, safe and happy in our classroom.  She shows care towards others in both her words and actions.  Lyla is always there to help, and I often find her doing small things every day to make both my day easier, and her friends.  She holds open doors, tidies up equipment and helps hand out materials without even being asked.  Lyla knows that these small acts of kindness make others feel cared for and 12M is always grateful for her kind words and actions.

Lyla is a hardworking and dedicated student who has shown a determination to improve her learning. She knows her learning goals and has worked exceptionally hard to achieve them.  Lyla always tries her best and has learnt to persist when learning feels difficult.  When challenged, she encourages herself and seeks feedback and support to help her understand.  One of the most enjoyable moments this year has been watching Lyla’s confidence grow when solving problems in Maths.  She has learnt that not all learning comes easily, but if you persist and keep trying different strategies you can achieve success over time.  The determination you show in the face of a challenge is to be admired and makes you a wonderful role model to all students.

Congratulations, Lyla, we are all very proud of you, and your achievements.

Congratulations Nevaeh!

It gives me great pleasure to announce the Term 3, 3/4 Citizen of the Term to a most worthy recipient, Nevaeh.

Nevaeh is an exemplary member of the Ballarat North Primary School community. She consistently demonstrates our school values of Care, Respect, Excellence and Community to the highest standard, and does so with genuine pride.

Nevaeh shows care each day in the way she interacts and treats her peers and teachers. She is thoughtful, compassionate, and inclusive and is always quick to offer a helping hand or a word of encouragement. Nevaeh’s caring nature makes others around her feel valued and supported.

She demonstrates respect by consistently listening to others, following directions, and treating everyone with fairness. Nevaeh understands that respect is not just about good manners, but about valuing the thoughts, feelings, and contributions of others. She leads by example, modelling respectful behaviour in the classroom and the yard. Nevaeh’s respectful nature helps build positive connections and helps to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome.

Her commitment to excellence is evident in her learning. Nevaeh approaches all tasks with focus, determination, and pride, setting high expectations for herself which she strives to achieve. She consistently demonstrates our school learning behaviour ‘Be Persistent’ and doesn’t give up when challenges arise.

Finally, Nevaeh demonstrates an outstanding sense of community within our classroom. She celebrates and encourages her peers when they are recognised as the Mystery Student, consistently shows initiative by helping to put the chairs down each day and takes responsibility for keeping our class organised by updating the daily timetable after each lesson. Through her actions, Nevaeh helps 34N run smoothly and positively. She contributes to the strong sense of belonging we value so highly at Ballarat North Primary School.

Nevaeh, you are a shinning example of what it means to live our school values. You are an exceptional role model to others, a valued member of 34N and a most deserving recipient of the Citizen of the Term award. The future is bright with you in it! Congratulations!

Congratulations Elliott!

Elliott is one of those people who makes our classroom a better place every single day. He is kind, respectful, and always has a friendly smile or a cheerful “hello” for everyone. He brings such positive energy to our room, you can’t help but feel happier when Elliott’s around!

When it comes to learning, Elliott gives his very best effort. He’s focused, enthusiastic, and always ready to jump into any challenge with a great attitude. He listens carefully, follows instructions, and shares his ideas with maturity and thoughtfulness.

But it’s not just in learning where Elliott shines. He has a natural talent for bringing people together. Whether it’s starting up a fun game, creating a little club, or just having a friendly chat, Elliott makes sure everyone feels included. He shows amazing leadership, compassion, and empathy.

On top of all that, Elliott received the medal in his classroom at Sovereign Hill for his outstanding behaviour and the same cheerful and caring attitude he shows every day in class.

Elliott, you are thoughtful, uplifting, and an absolute joy to teach. We’re so proud of you!

Congratulations, Elliott, our 5/6 Citizen of the Term!
