What's On In 1/2

Mini Hoops

Mini Hoops was a fantastic experience for our students! They spent the morning practicing their skills, followed by an exciting round-robin competition against other schools. The games were fast-paced, with each lasting just 8 minutes, keeping the energy high and the fun rolling. Our students had an absolute blast and showcased great teamwork and sportsmanship. A big thank you to all the parents who helped out on the day.  Your support made the event even more enjoyable and successful.

Tabloid Sports

This term our students have met another milestone in our SWPBS (School Wide Positive Behaviour Support) reward system. It is a sense of pride to see our students constantly displaying our school value of respect.  They engaged in all the Tabloid Sports’ activities! A big thank you to our sport leaders and the Wellbeing Team who took charge of organizing and running the sessions. They did an excellent job ensuring everything ran smoothly and keeping the energy high. The students had a great time playing games such as, Duck Duck Goose, The Parachute, Tunnel Ball, Basketball Skills, and Skipping.  Each offering a mix of fun and teamwork.

Gardening

The Grade 1 and 2 students are having a wonderful time in the garden! They have been exploring how plants grow, learning to care for the chickens, the environment, and enjoying the process of nurturing nature. The newspaper pots they have created help reinforce the importance of recycling. We hope you will enjoy the broccoli once they have grown! The students have discovered the valuable role worms play in maintaining a healthy garden. They are also enthusiastic about watering the plants and keeping the garden free of weeds.

We Made Butter!

This term, our History unit, Now and Then, has sparked great curiosity and enthusiasm among the students.

They thoroughly enjoyed exploring their own family histories by interviewing relatives and learning about what life was like when they were younger. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to make personal connections to the past.

We also explored how technology has changed over time. The students were amazed to discover how large older devices were. They couldn’t believe that televisions used to be black and white!

To wrap up our unit, we stepped back in time and had a go at making butter using traditional methods. It was a fun, hands-on experience that helped the students appreciate just how much everyday life has evolved.
