First Lego League

Whitehorse Primary School is excited to announce our collaboration with Supagroup Extensions, who have generously sponsored our First Lego League (FLL) team this year. Their support has provided essential funding, enabling our students to participate in this international STEM competition.

The First Lego League is a global robotics program that encourages students aged 9-16 to explore real-world challenges through research, problem-solving, and hands-on engineering. Teams design, build, and program robots using LEGO Spike Prime, then compete by completing tasks on a themed game board. Alongside the robotics challenge, students also work on an innovation project to develop solutions to problems related to the yearly theme.

This year’s theme, Unearthed, focuses on the mysteries and discoveries of archaeology. Our team of 10 enthusiastic students will compete on November 12th, presenting both their robot and their innovative project. To enhance their learning experience, they had a unique opportunity to meet virtually with an archaeologist, a professor from UC Berkeley, who provided expert insights and inspiration for their work.

Additionally, we would like to thank Luke Ingram for his support in creating the table for students to practise on.

We are incredibly proud of our students’ dedication and creativity and look forward to seeing their ideas come to life at the competition.
