John XXIII Rowing Club

Dear Rowing Families

We have two final events for our rowing program for 2025, with the House Regatta and Presentation Dinner on Saturday, 6 September. Racing commences around 8:30am until approximately 11:00am and parents are then invited to jump into a boat and your children can give you a quick lesson on how to row. A decision will be made about the weather on Friday afternoon.

The Year 7 Learn to Row program continued this week with some crews rowing together as a crew and making great progress.

Upcoming Regatta

House Regatta (Years 8 - 12)Saturday, 6 September, 7:30am

Presentation Dinner – Saturday, 6 September, 6:30pm

The Presentation Dinner will be held on Saturday, 6 September. Rowers are to arrive by 6:15pm, with parents seated by 6:30pm, in the Thomas More Exhibition Centre at John XXIII College. This event provides us with a wonderful opportunity to recognise our rowers, their season and our fabulous committee. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday.

Year 7 Learn to Row

As the Year 7 Social is on Monday, 8 September this session will not be held. Rowers can choose to attend a different session on Tuesday or Wednesday.

A bus leaves school at 3:30pm and leaves the boatshed to return to school at 5:30pm for a 6:00pm pick up at school. Parents, please ensure you are at school at 6:00pm. If students are being picked up from Canning Bridge, please notify Claire.

Please contact me if you have any queries.

Uniforms

The new zootsuit is now in stock at the Uniform Shop. There is also a training top which can be worn under the zootsuit. The only compulsory item is the zootsuit for racing at regattas. There is stock of the old Zootsuit which can be worn. Year 8 students can wear their PE uniform to the race and are not required to purchase a zootsuit.

Stack Team App

Please download the Stack Team App if you have not already done so. This app is one of our main avenues for communication with rowers and their parents. This is the central place for training schedules, training updates, and rowers can contact their coach in case of illness or injury and missed trainings. It is important that all rowers and parents have access.

To get this app please go to the App Store or Google Play and download Stack Team App onto your mobile device, then follow these simple steps:

  1. Sign-up to Stack Team App. You’ll be sent an email to confirm your registration.
  2. Log-in and search for JTCRC, then request to become a member.
