What a vibrant and inspiring place Keysborough College continues to be. Over the past few school weeks either side of the recent school holiday, both campuses have been alive with colour, creativity and connection, a true reflection of the energy that defines our school community. Whether it’s been through the joy of our Keysie Week celebrations, the incredible success of The Addams Family production, or the everyday learning that happens in our classrooms, the sense of pride and belonging across the College has been unmistakable.

As I move between Acacia and Banksia, I’m constantly reminded of what makes our school so special, our people, our community. The enthusiasm of our students, the care and professionalism of our staff and the support of our families all combine to create a learning environment that is not only high-performing but deeply human. Each event, each success, each shared moment adds to the growing sense that Keysborough College is more than a school. It is a thriving community built on shared values.

I’m also proud to acknowledge that our collective efforts are reflected in the improvement of our data sets this year. Across multiple measures including student engagement, attendance, wellbeing and learning growth, we are seeing the positive impact of the hard work, care and commitment of our staff and students. While we will share more detail in our final newsletter of the year, these trends reinforce what we already know: when we stay focused on our goals, believe in our students and lead with consistency and compassion, great things happen.

At the heart of all of this are our College values: Respect, Excellence and Diversity. They are not just words on posters or slides; they are the principles that shape our culture and daily actions.

  • Respect reminds us that kindness, listening and understanding are the foundations of a strong community.
  • Excellence pushes us to keep improving, to take pride in what we do and to always look for ways to grow.
  • Diversity celebrates the richness of our differences and reminds us that inclusion is one of our greatest strengths.

These values guide our students in their learning, our staff in their teaching and our community in how we connect and support one another. They are what make Keysborough College the vibrant, compassionate and forward looking place it is today. These values will be the first thing I talk about when I meet the incoming Year 7s for 2026 on  Tuesday 21st October.

As we head into the final part of the year, I want to thank every member of our community for the contribution you make to this wonderful school. Together, we continue to build a place where every student can thrive, every voice can be heard and every success is shared.
