What's Been Happening in Prep

Baby Chicks

Over the past few weeks, our students have had the opportunity to witness a truly special event: the hatching of eggs into adorable chicks!

As part of our Inquiry unit, the Prep students have been learning about the life cycle of chickens, the science of incubation, and the importance of caring for living things.

Our classroom was buzzing with anticipation when the first little cracks appeared on the eggs. Unfortunately all the chicks hatched after school however students were excited to see them when they arrived at school the next morning. The chicks have now gone back to their farm. See below for some photos!

Minibeasts Incursion

We’re excited to share the buzz about our recent session focused on minibeasts! Our little explorers had a fantastic time learning about the fascinating world of minibeasts and their unique features.

Students had a blast during a lively dress-up activity, where they transformed into a minibeast and explored their unique features and body parts. They enjoyed holding and feeding a range of minibeasts. Students also took part in interactive activities using microscopes to investigate minibeasts up close, discovering fascinating details about their life cycles, food chains, and adaptations.

See below for some photos of our fun filled incursion!

What’s happening in Year 4

Camp Edition

On the 12th and 13th of August, the Year 4 students participated in their first school camp experience!

The Year 4’s  set off nice and early to Alexandra Adventure Resort and participated in a wide range of adventurous activities. Students challenged and pushed themselves in completing a low ropes course, archery, disc golf, gaga ball, rock climbing, giant swing and flying fox. We continued our fun after dinner with a disco, trivia and hot chocolate!

On the way home we stopped at Hadfield Park in Wallan for some lunch and enjoyed our last bit of camp before heading back home. It was a fun and sunny experience and we all had an incredible time!

Craigieburn South District Athletics Championships

What a fantastic day it was at the Craigieburn South District Athletics Championships on Wednesday, 14th August! Held at the Meadowglen International Athletics Centre in Epping, the weather couldn’t have been more stunning – perfect for a day of competition.

We had 46 incredible students representing Our Lady's Primary School, and what an outstanding effort they all put in! From sprints to long jump and everything in between, our athletes gave it their absolute all, achieving some truly unbelievable results. There were plenty of ribbons being handed out, and we are so proud of the enthusiasm, support, and sportsmanship shown by every single one of our students. It was truly heartwarming to witness the way they encouraged each other throughout the day.

To those who have made it through to the Division Athletics Championships on Tuesday, 10th September – a huge congratulations and good luck! We know you will continue to make us proud.

A special thank you goes out to our amazing parents who took time out to come along, help out, and cheer on the students. Your support means the world to us, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do.

Let’s keep the momentum going as we prepare for the next round – go team Our Lady’s!

You make a payment on-line with your credit card and receive a receipt number that you use to fill in the payment receipt side along with your details and your child’s.
