YEAR 9

Year 9 Key Information

  • Subject selection forms for next year must be completed, signed, and returned to Pastoral Mentors by Monday, August 19.

  • Regular attendance fosters consistent learning and engagement and is crucial for student success. When students attend school regularly, they benefit from continuous instruction, participate in class discussions, and build strong relationships with peers and teachers. This consistent presence helps them stay on track with their studies, understand the material better, and develop essential skills like time management and responsibility. Good attendance is critical in achieving academic success and preparing for future opportunities.

  • In Week 9, the cohort will partake in a Leadership Day to start thinking about how to lead with influence and bring others along on the journey. We encourage parents to speak with their children about how they can be future leaders and make positive choices. In Term 4, we will look to appoint Junior Leaders for Year 10 in 2025. It is important students start thinking about how they can lead with integrity in support of the College's mission and vision.

Whole of College Key Information

ST MARY'S DAY CELEBRATIONS

This week, we celebrated our annual St Mary’s Feast Day through Mass and community activities showcasing the many talents across the College. It was wonderful to sit in our community houses during Mass and hear about the founders of each house, led by our 2024 House Captains. During the day, many staff were vulnerable, allowing students to donate money to soak teachers at ‘The Soaker’, one of many activities. We look forward to the next St Mary’s Day in 365 days!

ANNIE JR.

Final preparations are underway for our Annie Jr. College Musical! Next week, we are excited to see many students and staff in our community put on what we know will be the show of the year! The highly anticipated event will be performed in our Hugh O’Brien Centre; we look forward to seeing the production set come to life! Excitingly, tickets to the Friday performance have entirely sold out. However, limited tickets to Wednesday and Thursday performances can still be purchased through the link below. Good luck to all involved in this wonderful event!

PENINSULA TRACK & FIELD

We wish students the best of luck trialling for the Peninsula Track and Field Team next week. We look forward to hearing about the successes through the sports bulletin in the coming weeks.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS

It is essential that students attend school to ensure growth in their learning continues for lifelong success. The graphic below outlines how days absent from school can add up. These days can turn into weeks, months, and years if support is not implemented. We ask families to keep us informed of any changes in their child’s attendance and contact the college should support be needed. Attendance also contributes to our college house competition, a great initiative to build community.
