Holy Saviour School Bulletin

Dear Families,

In the words of Bon Jovi, “Woahhh, we’re halfway there…”, today marks the halfway point of Term 3, only another 5 weeks to go until school holidays!

Student & Staff Illnesses

This term, we have noticed a larger number of students coming to school unwell. This is having a flow-on effect on other students and school staff, with illnesses spreading quickly at this time of year. As some of these illnesses are lasting at least a week, we are finding it increasingly difficult to replace sick staff members. In some situations, some classes have had four different teachers throughout the week. We acknowledge that this has been difficult for the children, but we are managing as best we can with the resources available to us. I just wanted to thank you for your understanding with this, and hopefully, in a couple of weeks, everyone will be well and everything will be back to normal.

Staff Professional Learning & Development Day

Just a reminder that the school will be closed on Friday 23rd August for a staff professional learning and development day. Please make alternate arrangements for your children.

Father’s Day Celebrations - Time Change

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are needing to change our Father’s Day Breakfast to a Father’s Day Afternoon Tea on Friday 30th August.

We are inviting all children to celebrate Father’s/Special Friends Day by having afternoon tea and being involved in some fun activities at school with their dad/special friend. If for some reason the children’s father cannot attend the afternoon tea, then we encourage them to invite a significant other male such as their grandfather, uncle or a family friend etc.

The afternoon tea will begin at 2:30pm and run through until approximately 4:00pm. In order to assist with catering, we ask you to complete the Audiri form by Wednesday 28th August.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the change of time and hope that many of you can get the afternoon off work to join us.

Book Week Celebrations

Our Book Week activities bring so much excitement for our students. The Parade held on Wednesday was brilliant with our students participating so enthusiastically!  So many wonderful costumes and characters! Congratulations to all families on a fantastic effort this year.

Book Week gives an opportunity to continue to read and enjoy our favourite books along with the Shortlisted Books as part of the Children Book Council Awards. The fun continues next week, when children have an opportunity to vote for their favourite CBCA shortlisted book in their library lesson. We then compare the Holy Saviour winners to the official CBCA winners...stay tuned for the exciting results!

Father's Day Stall

The SAC will once again be holding a Father's Day Stall on Thursday 29th August.  Gifts will be available for Dads and Granddads and all gifts are $7. Payments may be made via CDFpay.

Book Club

The Edition 6 Scholastic Book Club catalogue was sent home this afternoon. Please submit all orders by Monday 2nd September, 5pm.  To view the catalogue online and place your order please click here.

Parent Helpers Needed for Lunch Order Pickups

We are seeking some Parent Helpers this term to assist with lunch order pickups.

Please advise if you can assist with Subway or Baker's Delight Lunch order pickups on a Tuesday or Friday Morning.

Both stores are located at the Vermont South shops and all that's required is to collect the orders from the stores and drop them off to the school anytime before lunch (1.30pm).

Thank you to the families who have already agreed to assist.  If we have enough families volunteering then a roster can be devised and it will only be a commitment of couple of dates  per term.

Please email the office if you are able to assist.

School Tours & Open Days

Since the announcement of the Emmaus College P-12 beginning next year, I have been swamped with school tours! Our previously organised Open Days have now finished, but we have scheduled some new dates for Term 3. Please feel free to share the following with anyone you know who wishes to enrol at Holy Saviour/Emmaus College.

  • Tuesday 20th Aug - 4pm
  • Wednesday 4th Sept - 4pm

Prep 2025 Enrolments

We have had great interest in Prep for 2025, as well as other year levels, and we’ve had a good number of enrolments come through already. If you have a child who is eligible to start Prep in 2025, please submit your enrolment at your earliest convenience. This will enable us to develop a clear picture of classing and group sizes for 2025. Enrolments for 2025 are to be made through the Emmaus portal
