Exploring the Eucharist in Art

This term, our Year 10 students have been studying the Eucharist through the lens of art. To deepen their understanding, they recently visited the National Gallery of Victoria, where they explored how artists across history have depicted this central aspect of our faith.

During the visit, students learned to analyze both general and religious artworks, honing their ability to identify symbols and themes.  They explored how artists use various techniques to convey deeper meanings, including the representation of spiritual concepts like the Eucharist.  This excursion enriched their classroom studies by connecting theological concepts with visual expression.  We encourage you to ask your child about their experience and the art that stood out to them.

Inclusive Games - Year 10

As part of our Year 10 Physical Education course, the students are undertaking an ‘Inclusive games’ unit.  The aim is to promote diversity, acceptance and placing a primary focus on inclusion.  Part of this unit is an incursion from Disability Sport and Recreation called ‘Wheel Talk’.  Our students had the opportunity to hear either Peter Ogunyemi or Andrew Harrison share their stories and then they participated in a session of Wheel Chair Basketball.
