John XXIII Rowing Club

Dear Families

Last Saturday at the All Schools State Championships held at Champion Lakes, our rowers proudly represented the College with exceptional determination and teamwork. Early in the day, James Michell set the tone for the team’s spirit when he fell into the water while contending for first place in his heat under challenging conditions. In an inspiring display of resilience, James swiftly got back into his scull and continued racing hard, earning praise from the umpire for his courage and determination.

By the end of the regatta, John XXIII College finished third overall, behind strong squads from Shenton College and Guildford Grammar. Our rowers secured 10 podium finishes across various events, with standout performances from Lily Lucas, who took gold in the School Girls Year 10 Single Scull, and several impressive silver and bronze medal performances. Despite the strong head breeze throughout the day, the team demonstrated their grit and made the College proud.
