Numeracy

In Numeracy, we have been reviewing number patterns. We have looked at similarities and differences between patterns, why they are important and created our very own.

Moving forward we are looking at Capacity. Specifically, we are aiming to recognise when a container is full, empty and about half full.

Literacy

We have continued our work with non-fictions texts in Literacy and Inquiry. We have started exploring the importance of the word because. This term involves explaining the why, not just additional information and is a conjunction. Later this term, we will look into the conjunction; but.

More recently, we have covered some phonemes that are more of a challenge and will continue to cover these. These are pictured below.

In Week 8 we have introduced -ed. We will work on this over the next two weeks.

If you are wanting to focus on something at home, we are encouraging you to review Heart words with your child. We are continuing to consolidate; are, have, saw, look, they, there, what and said. We have also introduced because this week. 

Market Day
