Mr Shuttleworth

As we approach the end of the term, it's a good opportunity to reflect on how the GEM principles of Gratitude, Empathy, Emotional Literacy, and Mindfulness, impact our lives:

  • Practising gratitude can help us train our brains to focus on the good things in life, even when we feel like there isn't much good to focus on.
  • Empathy can help us understand how other people might be feeling so we can make good choices about how to act around them.
  • Emotional literacy can help to make us feel better when we can talk about how we're feeling.
  • Mindfulness can help us to act intentionally and purposefully, rather than letting our emotions take control as we drift into autopilot.
