M Cubed – Marvellous Magnificent Minds: Gifted and Talented Conference
This term, three of our students—Henry B., Charlotte G., and Abhay K.—had the exciting opportunity to attend the M-Cubed Gifted & Talented Conference at St. Bede’s Catholic College in Bentleigh. The full-day event was designed to challenge and extend students who demonstrate high academic potential. It provided a unique environment where they could explore advanced concepts and connect with like-minded peers from other schools.
The students participated in a series of thought-provoking workshops, each carefully designed to push the boundaries of their knowledge and encourage deep, creative thinking. Here's a glimpse of their day:
- Exploring the ‘E’ in STEM
In this hands-on workshop students explored the engineering side of STEM. Through collaborative tasks, they were challenged to design, build, and test various engineering solutions. The workshop emphasized critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.
- Creative and Critical Thinking using Tournament of Minds Skills
This session encouraged students to tap into both their creative and logical sides to solve complex problems. Using the Tournament of Minds approach, students had to collaborate to develop inventive solutions while thinking critically under time pressure.
- The M-Cubed Conference was an enriching experience for Henry, Charlotte, and Abhay, pushing them to think in new ways and collaborate with peers from different schools. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing how they apply their newfound skills in future learning endeavors!
