Principal's Report

Last week Mrs Pethybridge and myself had the privilege of attending the Bishop Joseph Grech Scholarship Awards lunch in Shepparton, where Claire Coulturi received an award.

The scholarship was awarded to Claire for her commitment to working for others and she is planning to use the scholarship for a food drive. We are very proud of Claire and we congratulate her on this prestigious recognition.

Kildare Campus will see the arrival of different art works over the next few weeks. These artworks are important as they help maintain our connection with our Brigidine charism, but they are also excellent symbolism for students and staff alike.

The incredibly positive response to our Arts and Sports Academies is testament that there is a real appetite for success in our community. In the next few weeks and months we will start announcing the various partnerships we have built to work with our academies. These partnerships will focus on providing students and staff with more opportunities. This is certainly a very exciting time for St Joseph’s.

I look forward to our Athletics day next week and trust that all students participate and enjoy the day with enthusiasm and good sportsmanship. These events are a great day out for our College community and I ask that parents/carers follow the guidelines that have been set regarding their attendance. Our staff will be focused on running events and monitoring students, so please stay within the designated areas and as always only engage in a respectful manner.

Just a reminder to all that we welcome meetings with families about student achievements or challenges, but these need to be scheduled. Our staff cannot be available in an instant because they spend most of their day in classes with students. I kindly ask that parents/carers contact the College to make a meeting time in advance, rather than arriving to the College and requesting to see someone immediately.

God Bless.
