Book Week

A very big thank you to those families who sent books in for the 2024 St Peter's Book Swap. After a slow beginning, the books came flooding in on the last day and we had a terrific result! Every child who donated a book was able to choose a book to take home that they can keep and it was lovely to see students leaving school on Wednesday afternoon with their noses buried in their 'new' books.

Extra thanks to those who donated a gold coin towards the amazing work of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. The ILF is a national charity whose work supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander remote communities across Australia with culturally relevant books and resources, along with funding programs that support communities to create and publish their own stories.

Remember, Reading really is magic. It takes us to places beyond our imagination and there is loads of evidence about the benefits to children who are exposed regularly to books and stories. So keep reading!
