Endorsement of the Uluru Statement from the Heart

Edmund Rice Education Australia unconditionally extends our support for the 2017 Uluru Statement from the Heart. The Uluru Statement from the Heart is an invitation to the Australian people from First Nations Australians to walk together to build a better future. We accept this invitation and urge all across Australia to do so as a critical step towards Reconciliation.

We stand in solidarity, alongside our First Nations peoples, in their calls for a Voice and acknowledgment enshrined in the Australian Constitution. We believe that our future as a nation must be based on justice and liberation and that our First Nations peoples are entitled to the democratic right to have a voice indecisions that affect them.

The establishment of a First Nations Voice to Parliament enshrined in the Constitution, and the establishment of a Makarrata Commission for the purpose of truth-telling is at the centre of this justice. We support this road to Treaty. We commit to spread awareness of and support for the Uluru Statement from the Heart in all of our schools and communities. The Uluru Statement from the Heart will be displayed in all of our school communities as a sign of our commitment to these imperatives.

Chess Season Review: A Triumph in Strategy and Improvement

Greetings chess enthusiasts,

I am delighted to share with you the exciting highlights of our chess season, which has been nothing short of a triumphant journey through the world of strategy and intellect. As your dedicated chess manager, I am immensely proud of our team's achievements this year. We emerged as the runners-up in the PSA (Public Schools Association) competition, falling short in just one round—a remarkable accomplishment that signifies substantial growth and progress compared to previous years.

PSA Runner-Up: A Remarkable Feat

Securing the second-place position in the PSA competition is no small feat. Our team battled fiercely against formidable opponents and showcased our strategic thinking, adaptability, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. The fact that we lost only one round speaks volumes about the progress we have made as a team.

But that's not all; our accomplishments extend beyond the PSA competition. In the Chess Association of Western Australia (CAWA) State Final, we claimed a respectable fourth place—a testament to our consistency and dedication on the chessboard. This achievement demonstrates our ability to compete at a high level consistently.

The Heart of Chess at Trinity: Our Chess Club

For those of you who can't get enough chess, our Chess Club continues to thrive! Your hard work, determination, and commitment have truly made a difference. Let's continue to push the boundaries of our chess expertise and aim even higher in the seasons to come. Checkmate!
