As we move towards the second half of Term 3, our students continue to engage in many exciting opportunities across the school. Please have a read through the newsletter to see some of the highlights of the past two weeks and check out the ‘Important Dates’ page for upcoming events such as Book Week (next week), Year Level Camp Activities and Trips and our 3 Way Conferences.
As you may be aware the Department of Education has provided schools with the option to hold each teacher’s allocated Professional Practice Day on the same day for all staff. This is to enable the most effective and efficient use of this day.
As previously shared, NMPS has scheduled our Professional Practice Day for Friday 25th August. Students will not be required to attend school on this day.
Biz-E-Kidz will provide a service for students if required. Bookings are now open and can be made through SmartCentral.
It is with great pride and admiration that we congratulate Elly Benjamin who has received recognition for 35 years of service to the Department of Education. This is a massive achievement and from everyone at NMPS we would like to thank Elly for her dedication and commitment. Please continue reading this newsletter to read about Elly's teaching career at NMPS!
We would like to send our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Emily and Matt on the safe arrival of baby Winnie on Tuesday 15th August. Both Emily and Matt are beyond happy, and we are excited to welcome another new edition to our NMPS family.
As published last newsletter our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents/caregivers/guardians think of our school. The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. We encourage all families to participate in this survey. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.
The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open from Monday 7 August to Friday 8 September 2023. If you haven’t already completed this survey please do so before Friday 8 September.
Last week we sent enrolment confirmation letters to the families of our 2024 prep students. Congratulations to our students and families on this milestone. We look forward to welcoming our next cohort of Preps into NMPS when they begin their transition session next term with our current Prep teaching team.
Congratulations to our Year 6 students who have been offered, and accepted their secondary school placements for Year 7. We thank Celeste Grifa and the Year 6 teaching team for their support and oversight of this important process.
It's that time of year when the leadership team begin working through 2024 planning, class structures and recruitment processes.
As we begin the planning process for 2024, we would appreciate parents notifying the school if your child/ren will not be returning to North Melbourne Primary School in 2024, as soon as possible.
