Reading - Character Motives

Who stole Molly's doughnuts? You are about to find out from the three detectives.

A report by Omie, Louis S and Teddy, 4C

Our cohort started character motives where we investigated who stole the birthday doughnuts. We read different alibies and tracked the teachers movements on a map. In order to find out the thief, questions such as "What were you doing at the time of the crime?" and How do they taste?" were asked. We could tell some of them were trying to hide something. At first, we thought Hannah and Ben were the most suss. We then started to think it was Matilda or Molly.

We then went on a scavenger hunt to find the thief. We answered clues around the school. When we arrived at the Flex we found photos of Chil stealing the doughnuts and we all "oooooed", as we looked at the culprit. Whilst walking back to class, we all reflected on the investigating and interviewing we did. Overall we found this activity to be exceptionally fun!

Women's World Cup Report

By Grace Passmore, 4A

Hi, I'm Grace and today I am going to tell you all about the Women's World Cup. In class, we practised taking notes by watching videos about the World Cup. The Matilda's soccer team are a really good team. They wear bright yellow and green jerseys. Sam Kerr's position is normally striker. I am sure she is most of our favourite player. She kicks the goals and scores. That's what strikers do. I really like seeing Sam Kerr play, or even if she is subbed off, I like just naturally watching the game. Watching the Women's World Cup makes me feel happy that women are included in this sport.

Incursion

By Eloise and Daniel L , 4C

Last week, the grade 4's participated in the incursion 'Democracy, Community, and Me'. We learnt all about the voting system and the government. We had a class election and a student from each class became the Mayor. Then, the teachers chose 6 students to become the councillors. We had to decide if dogs should off the leash at parks. We had a very fun and humorous time!
