Principal's Message

Wow what a show!

How proud we are of our fabulous students for their hard work and efforts over the past two days.  Over three shows our students were stars of our biennial production, with the ‘Once Upon a Nursery Crime’ production a big success.

At the show you would have heard me acknowledge the passion of Candice Nyman and her team, Lara Mackie and Jess Freeman who donated their recess and lunchtimes for the majority of Term Three to ensure students had numerous opportunities to practice and refine their performance.  Our resourcing crew Fiona, Paul and Audrey assisted with everything from props, costumes, scene sets and ticketing. All our staff contributed in some way with their attendance on the evenings, supervision of students at the shows and the endless encouragement and praise they gave our students.  Thank you all!

With our last live production performed in 2018, the large majority of our students hadn’t yet experienced a production to know what to expect.  Chatting with one of our teachers this morning I was reminded of how much some of our students were gently ‘stretched’ by their roles in the show. Different clothes, new movements, closer proximity to others, remembering which costume, for which scene -  The learning and development that comes from this can’t be measured.

Those smiles on stage said it all!

Thank you to our parents and families for attending, buying tickets and supporting your children with costumes and encouragement!

Curriculum Day – Wednesday 6th September

On Wednesday our teachers attended school for reduced hours to allow for their time to be replaced following production.  Each of our teams took this time to plan their program for students for Term Four.

Tutor Learning Initiative to continue for 2024 and 2025

I received a most welcomed email from the Department this week informing us that the Tutor Learning Initiative or TLI will continue for the next two years. This funding and program allows additional staff to work in small groups with students who have been identified through NAPLAN as ‘Needs additional support’ in one or more curriculum areas. We look forward to continuing this great work.

One week to go!

Just a reminder that we have our final week of term next week prior to the upcoming school holidays.  School will finish at 2:30pm on Friday 15th September.
