Level 3 - Colours and Fruit

Level 3 students have been learning names of colours and fruit in Chinese this term. Students painted bunny’s house and listed the colours they had used. We also practised our listening and speaking skills through the game “Chinese Whisper” where we whisper the word in Chinese from person to person and pass the message.

Level 4 - Sports

Level 4 students have been learning the topic of sports in Chinese. We drew our favourite sport and included the sentence “wǒ xǐ huān... 我喜欢...” (I like...) in our work to express our personal preference.

Level 5 - Community

In this term, Level 5 students have continued learning about places in our community in Chinese. We have learned to ask “nǐ qù nǎ lǐ? 你去哪里？” (Where do you go?) and respond with “wǒ qù… 我去…” (I go to…). We have been practising having basic conversation of the topic with our peers in LOTE sessions. 

Level 6 - Food and Dining Out

Level 6 students have been learning about food and drinks this term. We conducted a class survey of popular food and drinks by asking “nǐ xiǎng yào shén me? 你想要什么?” (What do you want to have?) and responding with “wǒ xiǎng yào... 我想要...” (I want to have...). We have also learned about Chinese dining etiquette and some tips of using chopsticks. We practised handling chopsticks through different challenges.
