Recycling at JPPS

As a community, we are committed to embedding sustainable practices across the school. 

This year, we have been focusing on developing and implementing actions that will improve how we manage our waste. We are excited to announce the introduction of a new bin system that is designed to educate and encourage recycling. 

The bins are colour coded and have clear labels with examples of the types of waste found in each one. Included are landfill, paper recycling, mixed recycling, organic waste and special compost bins to help feed our worm farms.

A small group of students from Levels 3, 4 & 5 have been selected and trained up as our Waste Warriors. They are an incredibly passionate and environmentally conscious group who will be responsible for managing the new bins. 

A special thanks also to the Monash City Council who have supported the initiative and generously donated our new green waste bins. We look forward to eye opening conversations with the students as we continue to work towards a more sustainable world.
