Year 6 STEM

The year 6 students showed wonderful teamwork skills during our Bridge Building day and were very proud of the bridges they created. 

They learnt about the structure and engineering principals of a truss bridge and then as a team they had to design, construct and test their bridges to ensure that they met the design and engineering brief provided - this included the dimensions of the bridge and its capacity to hold certain weights. They were only able to use a limited range of materials, including reuse paper, soft cardboard, sticky tape and masking tape. We definitely have some future civil engineers and designers in our midst!
