Book Week

Last Monday started with Book Week celebrations, including dress-up and a parade. 

Activities throughout the week included reading and writing based on this year’s CBCA (Book Council) award winners. All year levels paired up for a Buddy Reading session, older students sharing books and reading to younger students. 

Preps studied “Snap” by Ann Walker, and “Jigsaw- A Puzzle I the Post” by Bob Graham

Year Two explored “Market Day” by Carrie Gallasch (Illust: Hannah Sommerville).

Year 4 & Year 5 looked at “Frank’s Red Hat” by Sean E Avery, and explored ways to ‘change their thinking’ when life gives you lemons:

Year 3 & Year 4 enjoyed an indigenous perspective, and explored ideas around citizenship with “Our Dreaming” by Dub Leffler  (Text: Kirlie Saunders) and “We Are Australians” by Jandamarra Cadd
