Senior School

Goodbye for now, Mrs Sharland
On behalf of the Grade 5/6 students, Miss Black and Mr Smith would like to send Mrs Sharland all our love as she begins her maternity leave. This is such a special time, and we’re all so excited for the arrival of your little one. You’ll be truly missed by both students and staff, and we wish you and your family nothing but joy, good health, and happiness as you welcome your new baby into the world.
Welcome Mrs Minoo
We’d also like to warmly welcome Mrs Minoo, who will be teaching the Grade 5 class for the remainder of the term. We’re looking forward to a great end to the term together!
First Responders Assembly
A big thank you to all the emergency services personnel who attended our special assembly on Wednesday. We are incredibly grateful for the vital work you do to keep our community safe. A big thankyou to all the Grade 5 and 6 Families who donated items for the hampers. We are sure they will be of great use to all those in our community.
Eureka! Gold!
The Grade 5/6 students will begin studying the Victorian Goldrush and its effects on Australia's population and immigration.
The Victorian Gold Rush began in 1851, when gold was discovered near Ballarat and Bendigo in the colony of Victoria. It quickly transformed Australia from a quiet, sparsely populated British colony into a booming, multicultural society. People came from all over the world — including China, Europe, and America — hoping to strike it rich.
In 1851 the first gold found in the Colony of Victoria, was found here, in Warrandyte at Andersons Creek.
Monday 23 June
We will be walking and visiting historic gold sites around Warrandyte including the Gold Memorial, The Quarry and Victory Mine. These locations are part of the Gold Heritage Walk in Fourth Hill. Students are encouraged to dress up from the 1850s era to add to the excitement of the morning. Students will be walking, so suitable footwear is required.
Enjoy the show this weekend!
