Principal's Report

The past two weeks at Andersons Creek have been full of energy and enthusiasm as we gear up for Opening Night of our school Production this weekend.

We started the fortnight by welcoming back one of our favourite guests - Healthy Harold and the Life Education team. Their engaging sessions offered students valuable lessons about making healthy choices, managing emotions, and staying safe. Healthy Harold’s presence is always a highlight and certainly did not disappoint with plenty of hugs and high fives as he worked the room. The Life Education program continues to support our whole-school focus on wellbeing and personal development.

The ACPS Cross Country Team was back out on the course this week with a strong performance at the Eastern Metropolitan Region (EMR) Cross Country event. ACPS had 5 runners qualify to compete – Anna, Gracie, Abby, Ike and Piper. Congratulations to all five for making it to this level of competition, and a special congratulations to Gracie who placed 3rd and has qualified to compete at the State level! What a fantastic achievement.

We held a special annual event for Thank a First Responder Day this week. We took time to acknowledge, celebrate and thank the amazing people who keep our community safe. We were proud to welcome representatives of the local SES, CFA, Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria to ACPS - a number of these people also being parents in our ACPS community. Our students showed their appreciation through a thoughtful video they made that collated images and personalised thank you messages. Each organisation was also presented with a special hamper full of goodies donated by our wonderful ACPS families that they could take back and share at their station. We are always so grateful for the time these organisations give to our school by coming out and spending time with our students. They love having you here and truly are grateful for all you do in our THRIVING Warrandyte community.  A huge thank you to these everyday heroes for their dedication and service.

Finally, a huge break a leg to all of our talented students performing in Seussical the Musical Jr. this weekend. I know they will do a fantastic job! They have worked incredibly hard over many months preparing for this performance, and I can’t wait to see the magic they bring to the stage.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in school life – it’s what makes Andersons Creek such a connected and caring place to learn. See you at the show!!
