Walk to School

We are looking forward to our designated ‘Walk to School Day’ this Thursday 22nd May. Police Officer Stephanie Ward and Mix FM will meet walkers at Colac Secondary College bus depot at 8:15am. Teachers will meet the students at the bus depot and assist with walking them back to school.

Parents also have the option to walk to school from their own designated point or they may even drop their child/children off a block from school and get them to walk… plenty of options.

Greater Western Region Cross Country

Congratulations to the following students who have qualified for the Greater Western Cross Country – Patrick Lehmann, Rory Dent, Jaymi Baker, Louis Foley, Cabe Shaw, Mia Borch, Betsy Riches, Georgia Desmond, Thor Medley, Benji Dent, Jock Melville, Phoebe Robb, Zoe Medley and Lily Simon.

The Greater Western Cross Country will take place next Monday 26th May in Warrnambool at Albert Park. The bus will leave Sacred Heart gym carpark at 8:15am and return to school at 2:15pm. The cost of the bus is $10 per students and $20 per adult. We do have seats on the bus available for parents/grandparents.

Students will need to wear their sports uniform. Please watch the weather and be prepared to pack coats, extra clothes etc. Students will also need to apply sunscreen before they come to school, bring along a drink bottle, snacks, fruit and lunch. A canteen is available on the day for students to purchase some food. Students can also purchase Greater Western Regional Cross Country merchandise.

Colac Division AFL Play

On Friday 30th May, our boys will be involved in the AFL Play Lightning Premiership at Colac Central Reserve. We will be sending three teams to this event. Each team consists of 12 players. All students who have trialled will play on the day. AFL Play will be the new format of football (SSV no longer accepts teams of 15-18 players). Due to our large numbers (because we feel it is very important to give all students a go), we DO need parents to assist with coaching, team manager, umpiring etc on the day. We would also be very grateful to any secondary students who would be willing to umpire on the day.  If you can help out on the day or have a teenager in Year 8, 9 or 10 who is willing to umpire on this day, can you please indicate on the PAM. Thanks in advance for your help.

Colac Division Netball Lightening Premiership

The Netball Lightning Premiership will also take place on Friday 30th May at the Eastern Reserve. A big thank you to the girls who have trialled very hard for this event. A big thank you to Sally Montano for her help with the trials. Due to the large amount of teams we have entered (so that all students who have trialled can participate), we do need parents to assist with coaching, team manager, umpiring etc on the day. We would also be very grateful to any secondary students who would be willing to umpire on this day. If you can help out on the day or have a teenager in Year 8, 9 or 10 who is willing to umpire on this day, can you please indicate on the PAM. Thanks in advance for your help.
