Principal's News

Dear Parents and Carers,

I have been deeply moved by the incredible outpouring of support for the McCrimmon family this week. Your kindness, compassion, and generosity have been nothing short of amazing. Each act of support has made a significant difference. It is a powerful reminder of how fortunate we are to be part of such a caring and supportive school and wider community.

I extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who has reached out, offered help, or kept the McCrimmon family in your thoughts and prayers. Your support is a testament to the values we hold dear and the strong bonds that connect us all. It is in moments like these that we truly see the spirit of our community in action, reminding us that we are never alone.

As we continue to support the McCrimmon family in the coming weeks and months, let us maintain this spirit of unity and compassion. Together, we can help them navigate this difficult time and honour Meagan's memory.

Administration of Medication at School

In line with updated advice from our governing body, DOBCEL, schools are no longer permitted to administer non-prescribed medication during school hours.

If your child requires medication throughout the day, we will contact you to come to school to administer the medication personally or if the need is warranted to collect your child.

Please note: School and CEB staff are not allowed to store or administer any non-prescribed medications, including common analgesics such as paracetamol or aspirin. These medications can mask the symptoms of more serious illness or injury and therefore, must not be used without appropriate medical oversight.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping all children safe and well.

From time to time children may be required to take a prescribed medication during the school day.  Our  administration staff are happy to assist in this area, however, we need to be extremely careful with medicines, as I’m sure parents can appreciate. Parents must complete a written form detailing dosage, timing etc. This form is available on our website or from the school office. I would recommend dropping into school with the form. A face to face chat about giving your child a prescribed medication is preferable.

Assessment Conversations

Assessment Conversations are an important part of our school's reporting regime. Parents are urged to book a 20-minute appointment with their child/ren's teacher from Monday, June 23, through Friday, June 27. These bookings should be made via PAM, which will be opened on Tuesday, June 3.

Enrolments 2026

This is a reminder to our families with a sibling starting Foundation in 2026 to please complete the enrolment application and return it to the school office by June 20th, 2025.

Kind regards,

Karl Dwyer
