Year 6 Canberra Camp

Our Year 6 class are enjoying a stimulating week in Canberra. We have visited Parliament House, the National Museum of Australia, Questacon, The Australian War Memorial and the High Court of Australia. It is always a pleasure taking our students on camps. They conduct themselves well and uphold our College values of compassion, gratitude, optimism, resilience and respect.

At dinner on Monday evening, after a long 13-hour bus ride to Canberra, a Canberra Park staff member approached the College staff and commented “I can tell they are country kids.”  We asked how he knew, and his reply was “They are well-mannered and happy to be on camp.”

Country Week Hockey

I had the pleasure of attending the Country Week Hockey Championships in Melbourne last weekend. The Junior School was represented in the Under 14s by Hugo Cameron, Tommy Brown, Anika Nelson, Sammie Price, Maggie Wallis, Lucy Cameron and Harriet Small. Both teams performed extremely well, making semi-finals and ultimately finishing 3rd in the tournament. It always amazes me how well Hamilton does against teams from much larger centres including Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo and Shepparton.  Well done to all junior hockey players involved in Country Week 2025.

Cross Country

Last Friday our Junior School Cross Country Running Team, competed in the 2000m and 3000m event in Warrnambool. Congratulations to all our runners who represented our school with distinction. Congratulations to Adelaide Farquharson who came 8th and has qualified to compete at the Greater Western Region Cross Country next Monday 26 May in Warrnambool again. Elsie Dyer will also compete via invitation.

Good luck to Adelaide and Elsie next Monday.
