Head Start Building and Construction

Congratulations to Brea and Will for successfully completing the Head Start Building and Construction workshop in Glenn Innes. They have earned competencies in operating Elevated Work Platforms and working safely at heights.

The Head Start initiative empowers eligible public high school students in years 10 to 12 by providing fee-free accredited training through pre-apprenticeship and pre-traineeship courses. This program enables students to explore career pathways of interest, acquire nationally recognized units of competency, and earn credits applicable toward a School-Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship (SBAT) or full apprenticeship or traineeship programs.

Construction Induction White Card

Twenty students at THS participated in the Construction Induction White Card course today, which was fully funded through the School to Work funding initiative. This represents an excellent opportunity for students to obtain career pathway accreditation.

PASS

In Physical Activity & Sports Studies (PASS), students have been diving into the exciting world of Event Management — learning how events are structured, the various formats they can take, and the key roles and skills needed to bring them to life.

To put their knowledge into practice, students stepped out of the classroom and onto the court, organising and participating in a series of Badminton competitions using both round robin and knockout formats. These fast-paced tournaments gave students hands-on experience in planning, coordination, and competitive play.

Congratulations to the overall champions from PASS 2, Levi Murphy and Tamia Cutmore, who smashed their way to victory with outstanding performances!
