News of the Week

 Dear Parents and Friends,

Welcome to this week's newsletter. Can you believe it’s almost the end of Semester 1! This week, you will hear about the F-4's winter disco, the production, Interschool sports, and we will also hear about the student's experiences when watching the Inform and Empower video.

Interschool Sports

Footy Boys-

Last Friday we played St Mark’s and it was probably our best game yet. We all played ripper games and the goal scorers were Dash, Raf and Ethan. We all tried our hardest and were all pumped for our next game.

Soccer Boys-

In soccer, the boys won 1-0 with Luke scoring the only goal. St Marks were 2nd of the ladder and St Brigids were 3rd so we just won.

Netball Boys- In Netball boys it was sadly 15-9 and St Mark's won. Louis, Che and Kyle scored most of the goals.

Footy Girls-

The footy girls played a ripper game with the score being 73-1. At this rate, our girls' footy team is going to reach District!

Soccer Girls -

In soccer, the girls drew 1-1 and Daphne M scored a great goal. St Mark's were second and St Brigid's Girls were 3rd on the ladder.

Netball Girls -

On Friday, our girls' netball team won. They won 14-7. They are also on the route to get into the District. Saoirse thinks that Charlotte got MVP, and she also says that the opposing team was very friendly.

Interschool Sport Tomorrow

Due to Mentone Park Primary School not having as many sports teams as St Brigid's we will having an inhouse netball game here at school.  The soccer and AFL teams will be going to Mentone Park .  Some of the students in the AFL teams have had the opportunity to play T-ball as a one off game.  The following students will be in the Tball Team:

Sarah, Georgie, Spencer, Islah, Emerson, Dash, Blake and Jye.

A big thank you to the students who volunteered for TBall tomorrow.  We are sure you will have fun.

Yesterday, the Foundation celebrated Milo Monkey's birthday party. They danced and ate food such as watermelon and popcorn. They also cooked, decorated and ate their own cupcakes. Foundation came dressed up in costumes for Milo's birthday. They dressed up as Milo's friends, such as Leo the lion and Roxy the rabbit. They also got to go on a scavenger hunt around the school and tried to find all the sounds that they have learnt. They even did Pin the party hat on Milo! They did lots of games such as throwing bean bags onto different sounds to make a word. Another game they did was using beebots. The Year 6's also came to see the Foundation students in their costumes.
