Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to Term 1.
It has been a wonderful start to the school year. I am very proud of the way that our students have embraced the new year, eager to learn, taking responsibility and being respectful to each other and staff.
As our College embarks on the journey from 'good to great,' we have identified the following key priorities for 2025:
- Excellent Teaching and Learning
- Positive Climate
- High Expectation Relationships
In the initial weeks of the term, our primary focus for both staff and students will be to foster strong, high-expectation relationships. Strong relationships between staff and students are the foundation for an environment of excellent teaching and learning. Our commitment to building meaningful connections will remain a priority throughout 2025. The establishment of strong relationships extends to all members of our College community - students, all staff, parents and carers.
On the student free days at the start of this term all staff participated in Professional Development. Staff worked with Mark Corrie with a primary focus on relationships. Mark is a strong advocate for building authentic relationships. Strong relationships build trust and safety. Staff worked on connecting with self and others by a series of workshops that pushed people outside their comfort zone. We spoke of the pillars of a great school and the importance of high expectation relationships. It was a very successful day with lots of great feedback. Mark will return later in Term 1 to audit our work and set up the next part of the journey.
Our new Year 7 students have had a great start to secondary education. The first few days students had the opportunity to settle into new routines, find their classrooms, meet their new classmates and teachers. This week they headed off to The Summit camp for 3 days to participate in an outdoor adventure experience that will push students outside their comfort zone and create an unforgettable experience with fantastic memories while establishing new and stronger relationships. We look forward to the students returning today to hear about the experience.
As our students have returned to our College I have been extremely pleased as I walk around the hubs and classrooms as to how well students have settled back into class.
In 2025 we have seen new staff join our College Community. We welcome them to our College and hope they settle in well over the coming weeks.
