PRAYER

                                                                           Father in heaven,

may the faith you have given us

in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,

and the flame of charity enkindled

in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,

reawaken in us the blessed hope

for the coming of your Kingdom.

May your grace transform us

into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.

May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos

in the sure expectation

of a new heaven and a new earth,

when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,

your glory will shine eternally.

May the grace of the Jubilee

reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,

a yearning for the treasures of heaven.

May that same grace spread

the joy and peace of our Redeemer

throughout the earth.

To you our God, eternally blessed,

be glory and praise for ever.

Amen

From the Principal

Dear Parents and Friends,

Happy new year to everyone and welcome back. As we begin the new school year we are reminded that Pope Francis has designated the 2025 Holy Year as a time of renewal for all as ‘pilgrims of hope.’ From a symbolic view, the Holy Door is a powerful sign of the Jubilee Year. As we pass through we are expressing our decision to follow and be guided by Jesus, the Good Shepherd. As a Catholic community students, families and staff will be offered opportunities to engage in prayer and reconciliation throughout the Jubilee Year.

It has been wonderful seeing all students back, and introducing them to our new students. We welcome our new students Elijah, Fleur and Mateo in Prep, Akhil in Grade 1, Rose in Grade 2, Raphael in Grade 4, and Aiyanna in Grade 5. And welcome to their families as well. I know that they are all looking forward to meeting others and becoming a part of our wonderful community.

This is a special time for our Year Six students too as they begin their final year of primary school.  We will formally acknowledge our school leaders at assembly tomorrow morning at 9.00am.
