Entries now open for RSC Encouragement Meet - Sunday, 9th Feb @ Aquanation! All Junior squad swimmers encouraged to enter!
Our next club-hosted meet is coming up early next year! The RSC Encouragement meet is on Feb 9th at Aquanation from 2pm. This meet is specifically for our junior squad swimmers!
An Encouragement meet is for those swimmers who are new to competing and for those who are still gaining experience. Being an Encouragement Meet, we will have officials on the day, but they will not be disqualifying for incorrect strokes/technique etc., they will simply offer feedback to your coach on things you could improve upon. A super relaxed and fun way of getting into the sport of swimming! It's also great timing to get some race practice with school swimming coming up! There will be a chance to practice relay skills as well, with a free relay event at the end of the meet.
As the rules are not strictly enforced at Encouragement meets, times swum will not show up on the results database, but there will be ribbons on offer for 1st, 2nd and 3rd for all age groups, and participation ribbons for all swimmers 10 and under.
All swimmers in squads Novice, Blue, Bronze, Silver, Gold should be entering this meet. Swimmers in Platinum, Platinum Junior Talent, State Target and Junior State should chat to their coach to see if this would be a good meet for them. State Performance and National Target, this one is not for you.
Please support our club and make sure to get your entries in soon. This meet is usually very popular with school swimming happening in Feb and March and is open to both registered and unregistered swimmers so usually fills fast. The closing date is Feb 4 at 10am or earlier if the meet reaches capacity.
**Please note that any swimmer that has made finals in Age State Championships, Long & Short Course Championships, Sprint Championships or All Juniors ARE NOT permitted to enter in the stroke that they made finals in for the last 12 months.
